Musical Journey Through the Nicky-Verse
In Friday Night Funkin’ vs The Nicky-Verse, Boyfriend enters a strange world where every character is a different variation of Nicky. The mod spans three weeks of gameplay and a series of covers. Each rap battle tests your ability to keep up with the beat as Boyfriend repeatedly confronts Nicky versions with personalities ranging from arrogant and obsessed with fame to cold and out of control. Can you keep the beat long enough to survive this twisted space?
The Main Characters
- The highlight of the mod is Nicky, who appears in many different forms and attitudes.
- NickyGirl is an overconfident streamer who always thinks she is superior to everyone. Through each song like E-Girl, Attention Magnet or Sellout, her expression changes from smug to losing her cool and bursting into tears.
- NickyMan becomes stronger and more aggressive, especially in Dead Lift with “punch notes” that require quick reflexes.
- NickEXE has a dark glitch style, and is the only song that does not have a blood sucking effect on the player.
Rhythm Controls
Players control Boyfriend with the arrow keys or WASD to follow the rhythm of each note. The Enter key is used to start or pause when needing to adjust breathing. Some songs in Friday Night Funkin’ vs The Nicky-Verse will have unique mechanics:
- Punch Notes: appear in Dead Lift, require pressing at the right time to avoid NickyMan's punches.
- Static Notes: inspired by Sonic.EXE, need to press to avoid losing a large amount of blood.
- Phantom Notes: on the contrary, need to be completely avoided because it causes the health bar to gradually decrease over time.
- Health Drain: works in most songs, except NickEXE, creating stable pressure while holding the combo.
