The core gameplay remains the same rhythm-based key-pressing style as Friday Night Funkin', but FNF Sonic Jam raises the challenge with faster tempos, dense patterns, and high-tempo remixes. The songs in the mod focus heavily on Hard Difficulty, especially tracks tagged Sonic Jam, requiring players to have good reflexes, maintain stable combos, and read the rhythm accurately.

How To Play

Players control the character and press the arrow keys in time with the music as the notes move to the target line. Each accurate hit will maintain the combo and increase the score, while too many misses will lead to failure. In addition to completing the song, players can aim for high rankings by maintaining perfect accuracy and utilizing special mechanics when playing as Sonic.
