Retro Blaster is a retro-style space shooter inspired by 80s arcade machines. The game offers a fast-paced and addictive bullet-hell gameplay. In this upgraded version of Bit Blaster XL, you control a constantly moving ship amidst waves of enemies, flying bullets, and dense obstacles. The goal is clear: survive as long as possible and maximize your score to climb the Steam leaderboard.

Core Gameplay Mechanics

Your ship automatically fires continuously in Retro Blaster, so the focus is on navigation and space control rather than manual aiming. You must pivot to change firing direction, use boosts to escape encirclement, and brake to handle tight dodges in cramped spaces. As time goes on, the number and ferocity of enemies increase, forcing you to strategically utilize power-ups like Spread Shot, Laser, Heat Seekers, Bombs, and Shields. Collecting coins in each playthrough unlocks new ships with unique attributes such as speed, firing rate, and armor.
