FNF Gumballs

A Retro-Inspired Rhythm Experience with a Nostalgic Touch
FNF Gumballs is a rhythm game mod for Friday Night Funkin’ created by PaigeyPaper. It first appeared as a simple reskin of octigone’s “Pico” remix, known as “Paco,” but didn’t stay that way for long. Over time, it turned into a full mod with its own story, music, and visual style. Inspired by early 2000s PC games, it leans into a nostalgic look with simple graphics, hand-drawn animations, and light, sometimes goofy dialogue.
What Makes FNF Gumballs Different?
Instead of sticking to one opponent, the mod puts Boyfriend into eight different rap battles against characters like Sonic, Sans, Pico, and Senpai. Each fight comes with a short cutscene, so it feels more like a continuous journey rather than separate stages.
Standout Features
- 8 rap battles with familiar and unexpected characters
- A straightforward story told through short cutscenes
- Hand-drawn visuals inspired by old PC and Flash-style games
- Soundtracks created by multiple community musicians
Gameplay & Player Experience
The gameplay follows the usual FNF style: hit the right keys on beat to keep your health up and win. That said, the pacing changes a lot between songs. Some start easy, then suddenly speed up with tighter patterns that demand better timing. It’s simple to pick up, but staying consistent is where the challenge kicks in.
