Sonic.EXE: Mania! is a Friday Night Funkin' horror mod developed by Team SUPERNOVA, featuring four musical battles against twisted versions of familiar Sonic characters. The mod includes Bloodmoon, Infinity, Tyrant, and Party Time, each with its own opponent, atmosphere, and musical style. Boyfriend and Girlfriend also receive Sonic-inspired redesigns, giving the crossover a distinct visual identity. With unsettling transformations, colorful character animations, and optional gameplay modifiers, Sonic.EXE: Mania! offers a varied set of challenges for fans of FNF and Sonic.EXE horror mods.

The Four Song Opponents

Each track introduces a different character inspired by the Sonic.EXE fan universe, with music composed primarily by Reverienova.

  • Bloodmoon – 115 BPM: Boyfriend faces Mania X, a reimagined version of 2011X. The battle begins on a peaceful green hill before the scenery turns blood red, creating a striking shift in atmosphere.
  • Infinity – 160 BPM: Haiyu, the mod's interpretation of Majin Sonic, performs in Majin City alongside his purple clone drones. The song also features musical contributions from NEXUSVGM.
  • Tyrant – 180 BPM: Tyrant X draws inspiration from Lord X and appears in a dark environment that gradually reveals his enormous form. This is the fastest track and introduces an additional health-draining mechanic.
  • Party Time – 160 BPM: Sunk, based on Sunky, brings a more comedic tone to the mod. Tails, Knuckles, and Eggman appear in party hats as the colorful performance develops.

Gameplay Difficulty Controls

Sonic.EXE: Mania! uses familiar FNF rhythm gameplay, with players following scrolling notes while managing their health. Opponent notes can gradually drain the health bar, although this effect has a limit. Tyrant adds a separate drain that periodically removes additional health, making accurate timing especially important during that encounter. Players who prefer a less punishing challenge can disable the relevant mechanics through the Gameplay options.

Main Controls

  • Arrow keys or WASD: Hit notes and navigate menus.
  • Enter or Space: Confirm menu selections.
  • Escape or Backspace: Pause or return to the previous menu.
  • R: Restart the attempt quickly by triggering a game over.

All four songs are available in Freeplay, each with Normal difficulty. Optional cheats also provide items and gameplay modifiers, allowing players to experiment with different settings while keeping cheat-assisted scores separate from their regular bests.
