FNF Verity is a horror rhythm game inspired by Horror Skunx's song It's Me, It's Verity, featuring the strange yellow smiley from ThatMob's Minecraft horror series. The game combines music-based challenges with an animated background that reacts to your performance. Rather than focusing on a long story or multiple opponents, it builds its appeal around one memorable track, increasingly unsettling visuals, and a scoring system that rewards accurate timing. Players can choose from four difficulties, making the song accessible to beginners while offering tougher charts for experienced rhythm fans.

Your Performance Changes the Music Video

One interesting feature of FNF Verity is how the background responds to your accuracy. Missing notes causes the video to lose its color and shake briefly, while maintaining a combo above 30 makes the visuals more vibrant. These effects add another layer to the performance because your mistakes and successful streaks become visible throughout the song.

The scoring system also includes special opportunities to earn extra points. Three halo notes provide a 2,000-point bonus when hit within 90 milliseconds, increasing to 4,000 points during Fever. Gold-ring sequences can fill the Fever meter when completed without missing notes. Once activated during a chorus, Fever doubles note scores for ten seconds.

Choose Your Challenge

The game features four difficulty levels with different note counts and chart behavior:

  • Easy: 272 notes with stationary arrows.
  • Normal: 360 notes with moderate arrow movements.
  • Hard: 481 notes with stronger movement patterns.
  • Encore: 507 notes, featuring 26 additional notes compared with Hard.
